Sharpe Project Developments completed the modernization of Temple Judea’s sanctuary and common areas in Coral Gables, Florida. Founded in 1948, Temple Judea is a longstanding religious and community institution originally designed by renowned Miami modernist architect Morris Lapidus.

In 1995, the project updated the temple’s primary worship and gathering spaces while respecting the original building’s architectural character. Improvements enhanced the sanctuary’s functionality and created more welcoming common areas for religious services, congregation gatherings, and community activities.

The completed work balanced modernization with preservation, allowing the facility to better serve the congregation while honoring Temple Judea’s history and established identity. Jorge Hernandez Architects served as architect, and Overholt Construction served as general contractor, contributing to the successful completion of this important improvement program.

The spaces continue to support worship, connection, and community engagement at Temple Judea.
